Composer John Adams, arguably America’s most prominent symphonic and opera composer, is routinely being harassed by immigration officials.
The Guardian has details of the manner with which the US government treats the man who composed On the Transmigration of Souls, the moving and haunting tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon commissioned by the New York Philharmonic.
UPDATE (Oct. 21): Adams is apparently not alone. Janos Gereben at sfcv.org reports that acclaimed soprano Christine Brewer is also being subject to TSA harassment.
